About Mimosa
Fluffy, fragrant, sun-like golden spheres of mimosa are the most beloved classic of early spring, gently reminding us that the days are becoming longer and warmer.
Mimosa Season
It is commonly associated with International Women’s Day on March 8, yet in fact mimosa is a wonderful element of spring bouquets. Its aroma brings a touch of Mediterranean charm, as in this region mimosa trees are covered with bright yellow blossoms starting from February.
Which flowers are mimosa combined with in mixed bouquets?
Mimosa pairs beautifully, first of all, with spring flowers such as tulips, daffodils, irises, and hyacinths. At the same time, our florists create picturesque and original bouquets using a wide palette from our assortment.
What does mimosa symbolize in bouquets?
Thanks to its sunny character, mimosa symbolizes warmth and support, making it appropriate for any pleasant occasion when you wish to express affection, sincerity, friendship, and optimism.
It also symbolizes: Spring, Feminine radiance, Sensitivity, Unity, Teamwork.
How to care for mimosa to extend the life of the bouquet?
Caring for mimosa has its own specifics, and there are two possible approaches. The first is to place the mimosa bouquet in a dry vase (yes, this is possible), allowing it to dry naturally into a fragrant dried flower — a method commonly used, for example, in Italy. If you prefer to keep it in water, use only a small amount. The woody ends of the stems should be trimmed at a sharp angle and split lengthwise. This should be done each time the water is changed — every one to two days.
If the mimosa has slightly dried, it can be placed in a small amount of very warm water (not hot, but comfortably warm to the touch) or gently steamed for a few minutes — this helps the blossoms to fluff up again.
With proper storage, mimosa retains its joyful yellow color even when dry, making it suitable as a dried flower for bouquets or home decoration.
